Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs) help FFA members develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market. Some events allow students to compete as individuals, while others allow them to compete in teams. There are 25 CDEs and LDEs , covering career skills in every area from communications to engineering to business to all specific agricultural content areas.
Any student may join a team or individual event and prepare, and teacher coaches will determine the students who will compete for the year. Competitions are held at the district and state levels throughout the year, and those who win will represent the Woodbury FFA and the Connecticut FFA Association at the National FFA Convention held each fall in Indianapolis, Indiana.
