The 2007-2008 school year has started with not only
new freshmen, but with a new Vet Science teacher. Ms. Petersson has
joined the team of Ag teachers here at the Woodbury FFA Chapter. She will
make a great addition with her experience in the veterinary field as a
former vet technician.
Ms. Petersson previously taught at Wamogo
High School as the animal science teacher. As the animal science teacher,
Ms. Petersson taught horse management, Ag production, and vet science.
She had been at Wamogo for two years before she came to Woodbury.
Like several of the other Ag teachers,
Ms. Petersson is a UCONN graduate. She first received her Bachelor of
Science in animal science. She then went on to grad school to receive her
Masters Degree in education.
Ms. Petersson devotes most of her time to
her beloved animals. Even from a young age, she has been involved with
horses. Currently, Ms. Petersson owns a thirty-year-old paint mare, Q-T,
and a five-year-old thoroughbred gelding, Jack. When she is not involved
with her two horses, Ms. Petersson is showing her cows at competitions.
On the much smaller end of the scale, she cares for Hank. A furry burst
of pure energy, Hank is a year and a half year old Labrador retriever.
She is quickly learning just how great the
Woodbury FFA Chapter is with each passing day. “I am living my dream,”
teaching students about her passion of animals.
