Sophomore Classes
Sophomore students are allowed to pick two of the seven Agriscience classes offered to take for one semester (1/2 the year) each. All sophomores have their Agriscience class at the same time everyday. This also allows for another thing to happen called the Sophomore Block Officer Team that involves all sophomore students. Sophomore agri-science classes are held one and one half periods everyday. This allows for field trips and more hands-on activities. Each of the two classes that a sophomore takes are worth 3/4 of a Credit each for a total of 1.5 High School credits. To choose what classes students want to take, as freshmen they fill out a form with their top four choices in order. The Agriscience staff then tries to give everyone their first and second choices but sometimes the second does not work so they get the first and third. The staff must look at numbers and see if one class or two classes are needed for each subject and then when filling the spots they keep in mind the 15 student limit per class. If a student gets into a class and they do not like it they can then transfer to another class if it is within two weeks of the start of the semester.
